This is an original, on-set concept rendering created for Saw II, designed to live inside Jigsaw’s lair as part of the visual language of the film. What you’re looking at is an early rendering of the Wrist Trap... the device that ultimately kills Addison.
Only two of these concept pieces have survived (to my knowledge).
This is one of them.
It was used on set and remained in Jigsaw’s lair during filming. By the end of the movie... during the moment when Eric Matthews finally snaps and pummels John Kramer... this piece was still hung in the lair and was splattered with blood from the scene. That blood is still on it. It has not been cleaned. It has not been “restored.” What you see is exactly how it left the set.
I’ve always loved this piece because it does what good Saw design is supposed to do:
It looks surgical.
It looks elegant.
And the more you stare at it, the more you realize how cruel it is.
This isn’t a replica.
This isn’t a reprint.
This is a working piece of the film’s DNA... part art, part blueprint, part aftermath.
Frame it. Display it. Let it quietly judge the room.
