Sex. Sexuality and the Occult. Or Paranormal. Or Supernatural. (…fun fact. When photographing this lot I accidentally set my office on fire. I gotta cool it with the candles.)
Ironically, my entire occult collection started due to one book featured in this lot. SEX AND THE SUPERNATURAL. I saw this cover while perusing a used bookstore. I saw it and knew I had to have it. I didn’t care the context or content. I just loved the cover. I knew if it were displayed in my office it would be a conversation piece. And, it was… and still is. (I have bought multiple copies of this.)
So, let’s dive in, shall we?
1. SEX IN THE SUPERNATURAL, 1970:See above! This was the book that started my collection. Sex and the Supernatural is a book that explores the intersection of sexuality, religion, and magic. The author, Benjamin Walker, delves into the intricate relationship between these three realms and provides a fascinating examination of the ways in which they influence each other.
2. SEX AND THE OCCULT, 1973:Gordon Wellesley's exploration of the connections between sexuality and the hidden world of the occult. The book explores the complex psychology of desire, exploring the ways in which our deepest desires and fantasies can lead us into the realm of occult magic.
3. SEX AND THE PARANORMAL, 1990:Dr. Paul Chambers explores an unusual intersection of two seemingly unrelated topics: sexuality and the supernatural. Through a series of interviews, case studies, and historical accounts, Chambers delves into the ways in which humans throughout history have experienced sexual encounters with ghosts, aliens, and other paranormal entities.
4. LUST FOR ENLIGHTENMENT - BUDDHISM AND SEX, 1990:This thought-provoking book delves deep into Buddhist philosophy and sexuality. The author, John Stevens, brings to light numerous accounts of Buddhist teachers and disciples who have delved into this complex terrain, providing insightful commentary and analysis along the way.
As with all our lots more will come than what is pictured.
